跨領域通識教育課程開啟數學與音樂的對話

Developing the Dialogue between Mathematics and Music from the Interdisciplinary Course of General Education

摘要


跨領域通識教育課程「自然科學與音樂」於八十九學年開始講授,迄今 8 個學期共有 12 個班級 808 位學生修習本課程。本文主要敘述技專校院通識教育課程的重要性,「自然科學與音樂」課程開設之背景與緣由,音樂領域中數學的應用範例、「自然科學與音樂」課程中有關數學與音樂各種對話的具體教學實施方式和內容。 本文藉由跨領域通識教育課程「自然科學與音樂」之講授,開啟數學與音樂多元對話的探討,除了希望能提供通識教育課程教授的另一種思考模式,並分享本課程施行之教學經驗,做為其他學校通識教育課程的參考,鼓舞大家積極參與通識教育課程之設計和實施之外;更期望藉由科學與音樂的跨領域多元對話,成為推動科際的整合、促進科技與人文藝術融合的一股新生力量。

The interdisciplinary course of general education, “natural science and music”, has been offered since the academic year of 2000. 808 students enrolled in 12 classes of this course during 8 semesters. Here, we describe the importance of the general education curriculum to the colleges and universities of technology; the introduction of “natural science and music” course; the examples of the application of mathematics to music, and the dialogue between mathematics and music in the contents of “natural science and music” course. In this study, we try to provide the course programming and a new concept to the courses of general education by the integration of technologies and humanities from the diversified dialogues between mathematics and music. Besides, we list the strategies and methods for carrying out the course as well as the reference model in order to realize the expected effects. We would like to share these experiences with the other colleges and universities in the hope that they can improve their general education instruction.
