本研究針對62名女性與21名男性之三專應屆畢業護生,以「艾德華斯個人興趣量表」、「護理形象量表」、「護理能力量表」進行問卷調查,主要目的在探討不同性別護生於此三變項之異同。所得結論如下: 壹、男護生之心理需求以支配需求為最高,次為成就、省察、自貶與堅毅,而以攻擊需求為最低,次為順從、表現、愛變與親和;女護生則以省察、變異、自貶、求援與親和等需求之得分較高,而攻擊、愛變、順從、表現與支配等需求之得分較低。而性別不同之護生在「表現」、「支配」兩項需求得分有顯著差异,其餘者則無顯著的不同。 贰、不論男女護生其對護理形象之看法有正面亦有負面,有屬「外行人看法」、「早期專業或傳統看法」者、亦有屬「現今專業看法」者;不同性別護生對護理形象的看法大致相同,僅「護理工作是屬於女性的工作」此一特性會因男女性別不同而看法有顯著的不同,其中男護生較女護生認為護理是女性的工作;至於「對護理特性之重要必看法」方面,則并不會因為性別之不同而有不同。 參、就單項護理能力言:兩性護生在資源運用、危急或瀕死病人照顧、病人心理社會問題之處理、長期照護及研究等項能力之得分較低;但總括來說,整體與分類護理能力并不會因性別的不同而有顯著的不同。
The purpose of this study was to describe and compare the differences between 62 female and 21 male nursing students in personality, the images of nursing and nursing competence. Three questionnaires, the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS), the Nursing Image Scale and the Nursing Competence Scale were administered to the students. The results showed the following: 1. Generally, there were no significant differences in personality except for exhibition and dominance between different gender students. 2. Results revealed similar views of nursing between different gender nursing students. The only difference between male and female students is that male students tend to view nursing as sextyped as a female occupation or women’s work. Otherwise, it was found that there were no significant differences between genders as to the inportance of the characterization of nursing. 3. Each item of competence analysis showed the lower self-rated scores are the utililizing of resources, taking care of critical or dying patients, the ability of deal with psychosocial problems for patients, and research. Results also indicated there were no significant differences between different gender students in nursing competence.
