The purpose of this review was to discuss the prevalence of injury and the extent of preventive actions in beach volleyball players. This article introduced acute and overuse injuries in beach volleyball. Acute injuries included ankle sprains, finger injuries, knee injuries (ligament or meniscus injures) and so on. Overuse injuries included patellar tendonitis, shoulder pain, and low back pain. Generally, PRICE methods and NSAIDs were often used to cope with acute injuries. Wearing sporting devices and athletic taping could prevent muscle strain and ligament sprain. Muscle strengthening and wearing protective devices were often used to prevent overuse injuries. In addition, sand quality and depth should also be considered to reduce overuse injuries.
