摘要

本文針對「始政四十週年台灣博覽會」中的“展覽會場”與“會場設施”之相關視覺傳達設計加以研究。研究結果發現：(1)臺灣博覽會的展覽會館、展示與展覽設施的設計規劃甚為完備，且融合了西歐的風格與日本、台灣的視覺象徵造形與符碼，並透過分工負責的團隊與學有專精的專家作整體的設計與製作。(2)各項展覽會場內的展示設計，除了傳達出其殖民台灣時的各項政經建設成果外，為展現日本帝國主義之雄心壯志，在展覽館的建築設計表現形式中也透露出其帝國主義的意象。(3)由於企業的參與，使得展覽會場與各種設施呈現出多元化的表現。

This section concentrates on the visual communication design of the 'pavilion' and 'facility' of the expo. Research results indicate; (1) the design of the pavilion, exposition and facility were quite well-organizeed, successfully combining Western and Japanese styles and visual symbols of Taiwan, representing a work of division of labor and specialists; (2) besides demonstrating achievements in construction during the colonization, the exposition design has also included images of Japanese imperialism to show her great expectation; and, (3) the participation of enterises have enabled a multiplicity in the available facilities.
