The purpose of this study aims to discuss the differences of the fitness between the obese kids (index of stature and avoirdupois exceed or equate to 1.20) and the normal kids (index of stature and avoirdupois between 0.90-1.09). The items of fitness are including: standing broad jump, bending forward with sitting position, one-minute sit-up, 800-meter jogging. The 160 participants are selected from four classes of sixth graders in Hudong Elementary School, Changhwa. Through measuring and transferring the data of the height and weight, this study divided the participants into two groups, one is obese and the other is normal. The number of obese kids is 30 (15 boys and 15 girls, respectively), and normal kids are 30 (15 boys and 15 girls, respectively). Through accessing the data, the results are as follows: 1. Sit-up: The results reached the significant differences on sit-up (endurance of muscle) between these two groups, the normal group is superior than obesity group. 2. Bending forwards with sitting position: There is no significant difference between these two groups. 3. Standing broad jump: The normal group is superior than those of obesity group on standing broad jump (power, explosive strength). The difference is significant. 4. 800-meter jogging: The normal group is superior than the obesity group on 800-meter jogging (the fitness of cardio-pulmonary endurance). The difference is significant.
