一位女性美容督導敘說其生涯發展與困境

A Beautician Supervisor Narrative Her Career Development and Barriers

摘要


本研究目的在了解在女性行業中女性的生涯發展,研究者以一位三十九歲的美容督導爲研究參與者,經由兩次共七小時的深度訪談,收集研究對象的敘說資料,並以整體的理解方式,從敘說者的立場來看故事的內容及分析資料。本研究根據參與者的敘說將美容督導的生涯發展歷程分成五個階段:成長階段、探索階段、建立階段、轉折階段及穩定階段。成長階段是有關她小時候有關死亡的記憶及孤單的中學生活;探索階段是她在大學時的多方嘗試,及發現從事教書生涯的不合適;建立階段描述她開始接觸美容課程及之後開始創業;轉折階段則爲她在事業上遭受挫折後重新省思;之後從信仰中找到力量,進入穩定階段。研究中並分析出五種影響研究對象生涯發展的因素,包括:貴人、原生家庭的力量、個性因素、家人的支持與包容和信仰的力量。最後研究者針對研究結果加以討論並提出建議。

This article aims to explore women's career development among cosmetician by narrative analysis of qualitative research method. The participant was a 39-year-old beautician supervisor who was deeply interviewed by the author twice through seven hours. The narrative analysis in this research emphasized the subjective experiences of first-person accounts and the holistic understanding relative to the participant's life course. We divided the participant's career development process to five stages including growth stage, exploration stage, establishment stage, turning stage, and maintenance stage. For the growth stage, the participant reported her experiencing death issue and lonesome during her high-school period. For exploration stage, the participant described how she tasted varied jobs and realized that she was not suitable for teaching during undergraduate. For establishment stage, she participated in some courses on cosmetology and then started her personal enterprise. For turning stage, she was empowered by her religious belief after suffering a great deal in those running-personal-enterprise days. In addition, the narrative analysis in this research resulted in the five impacts on the participant's career development. They were significant person in career net, native family, personality, the support from family, and the impact of religion on her. Finally, this article provides some limitations and suggestions for the future.
