The current study tries to examine the effect of abusive supervision on subordinates' negative affect. In addition, to examine the moderating effect of subordinates' emotional intelligence on the relationship between abusive supervision and subordinates' negative affect. In current study, four hundred and eleven valid questionnaires were collected from service industry employees, and data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 and AMOS statistics software. The results show that: (1) abusive supervision is positively related to subordinates' negative affect; (2) subordinates' emotional intelligence moderated the relationship between abusive supervision and subordinates' negative affect. The managerial implications of the findings and suggestions for future research directions are also provided.
