Over the past twenty years, a great number of studies on place attachment have been conducted. However, a common perspective has not been achieved regarding the definition of place attachment or the methodologies to be applied. Accordingly, there is much room for progress in regard to related concepts and empirical results. This study aims to analyze the studies on place attachment and those on the relationship between tourism/leisure and place attachment, along with the development of the dimensions of the place attachment construct. Suggestions will also be proposed regarding future relevant studies.
