Green chemistry has attracted much attention recently presumably due to the sustainable development of human. Existing analytical methods often contribute to environmental contamination during the progress of green chemistry. Developing and improving existing analytical methods to meet the principles of green chemistry is the most important task. This article introduces green analytical chemistry first based on the article of green analytical methodologies by Keith et al. (published in Chemical Reviews, 2007). Secondly, research work on green analytical chemistry using representative examples from author’s laboratory are shown to demonstrate the necessity of domestic research and development on green analytical chemistry.
