無線寬頻通訊為未來寬頻通訊之主流,將主宰行動多媒體,語音數據匯流的發展,台灣廠商在WLAN產量居於全球的第一位,行政院計畫以無線寬頻為主軸發展第三兆元的產業等因素驅動下,立法院於民國94年6月通過了M-Taiwan特別預算來補助發展無線寬頻產業推動,近年來WLAN設備的價格持續下降,以及國際大廠的推動,導致終端設備的普及,各國主要城市將無線城市列為發展的目標以加強城市的競爭力,台北市、高雄市宣示將打造全球第一的無線城市。 無線城市將為通訊產業產生新的價值練,本研究以台北,高雄網路新都為例,依城市的屬性分析無線城市的預期目標、建置策略、研究在無線城市平台上可能的應用服務及經營模式,探討無線城市的競爭優勢及其未來發展方向。
Broadband wireless communication will dominate the broadband communication in the near future. It will perform mobile multimedia and voice/data covergency. Taiwan industry projects leading market share in terms of WLAN product. The market driver is coming form the low cost of WLAN devices, it become more and more popular in the wireless industry. Taiwan government has M-Taiwan initiative to develop wireless communication industry, its target to build 10 M-City. Other cities in the world have started to study the feasibility of M-City. Taipei city and Kaohsiung city are planed to build first M-City around the world. M-City creates new telecommunication value-chained. This thesis explores the objective, deployment strategy, potential application, business model & competitive advantage and critical success factor of M-City. The thesis is based on the Taipei M-City project and Kaohsiung M-City project as case study.
