山藥富含植物雌激素,由細胞實驗或是動物實驗顯示植物雌激素具有抗發炎的作用,目前已知isoflavonoids 的其中一種結構genistein,能透過抑制tyrosine kinase而達到抗發炎的作用。全身性紅斑性狼瘡(Systemic Lupus Erythematosus , 簡稱SLE),會產生自體抗體侵犯全身各器官組織,其中最常見的包括皮膚、關節、腎臟和中樞神經系統等造成慢性發炎的疾病。故本研究目的為探討補充山藥(Dioscorea alata L. cv. Tainung No.2)對於自體免疫疾病病情的影響。本實驗分成兩部分:生命期試驗及免疫功能測定試驗。 生命期試驗使用三個月大的MRL/lpr雌鼠分成七組,分別為餵食AIN-76飼料為控制組、每公斤飼料含38 g熟山藥粉為Dcook-10組、每公斤飼料含108g熟山藥粉為Dcook-30組、管餵山藥乙酸乙酯萃物每公斤體重5.3mg為Daea-5組、每公斤體重10.6mg為Daea-10組、每公斤體重30mg為Daea-30組及管餵tamoxifen每公斤體重375
