The behavior of structures under loaded usually comes with phenomenon such as geometrically nonlinear and materially nonlinear. For geometrically nonlinear issues, the position changes of an element which include the element deformation and the displacement by rigid body motion. It will lead to error result brought by rigid body motion when simulating. Otherwise, it is very important to eliminate the counting errors caused by rigid body motion while dealing with geometrically nonlinear issues. In this study, membrane of vector form intrinsic finite element method is used to simulate the large displacement issues in space. The result of example analysis is used to verifying can be simulated the motion of membrane effectively in space, then illustrating the feasibility of large displacement by vector form intrinsic finite element method. Base on the theory of engineering mechanics and mechanics of material to verify the validity of vector form intrinsic finite element method.
