In this thesis, we design an adaptive headlamp with high optical utilization factor. The light pattern is designed to meet the ECE R112 regulation for automotive low beam and high beam. A projection lens with a specific cutting shape to enhance the contrast is designed and applied to the low beam in the study. In the adaptive high beam, we propose a specific packaging structure with a parallel mirror pair to extend the illuminating region in the vertical axis, and also reduce the need of LED number. Finally, experiments with the prototype are done to verify the design and the simulation.
