運用教學媒體對學生英語課程學習成就與學習動機之影響

摘要


本研究旨在探討運用教學媒體,對國小五年級學生在英語學習成就與英語學習動機的影響;學生對於英語課使用教學媒體的態度及看法;以及英語課使用各種教學媒體的優缺點。本研究採用準實驗研究設計,研究對象為雲林縣某國小五年級兩班學生,共計七十名,進行為期二十週,共三十八堂課之實驗教學。本研究隨機分派一班為實驗組,接受運用教學媒體教學;另一班為控制組,接受傳統英語教學。實驗教學前,兩組學生需先接受英語學習成就測驗及學習動機量表之前測,在實驗結束後,除了分別接受後測外,兩組學生尚需接受運用教學媒體教學學後訪談和問卷之施測。 本研究主要發現如下: 1.接受不同教學方法之整體和低、中、高成就學生,在英語學習成就測驗表現上無顯著差異。 2.接受不同教學方法之整體和中成就學生,在英語學習動機量表總分表現上有顯著差異;低和高成就學生則無顯著差異。 3.學生對運用教學媒體教學多持正面肯定之態度,認為運用教學媒體教學對英語學習是有助益的。 根據研究結果提出具體建議,供學校、教師、廠商及未來研究者參考。

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of using instructional media of fifth-grade students on their English achievement and motivation for learning English, to understand students’ attitudes and feelings toward using instructional media in English class, and to understand the goods and faults of using instructional media in English class. A quasi-experimental design was used. Two classes of fifth-grade students from an elementary school in Yunlin County were randomly assigned to the experimental group and control group. After students took pretest on English achievement and motivation, the instructional media was implemented in the English class of the experimental group, while the control group accepted instruction in the traditional way. After twenty weeks, both groups took posttest on English achievement and motivation. Additionally, both groups took interview and questionnaire on instruction of English in using instructional media. The major findings of the study were as follows. 1. No significant difference was found between experimental group and control group on the total scores of English achievement test. 2. The experimental group scored higher on English motivation scale than the control group. 3. The experimental group hold positive attitude toward using instructional media. They consider instruction of English in using instructional media as a good way to learn English. Finally, based on the findings of this study, suggestions for administrators, teachers, providers of instructional media, and future research were discussed.
