Because the differences between population density and life style, streets in Taiwan are more frequently used than in western cities. Especially the concept of public space does not exist; therefore, many activities took place on roads. In the daytime, cars occupy streets while people make use of them at night in comparison of different using period. For example, night market streets open for people to use as a public restaurant. The space of roads has become important for our city life at nights. Hence, I select night market to do research and investigate certain characteristics at a particular place from the public’s perspectives. In the research, I will analyze the characteristics, functions, and types of activities of night market streets space to view its phenomenon as well as how it forms. Furthermore, reexamine present situation of Taiwan streets space and based on the background of this phenomenon to redesign. Finally, connected my draft plan (streets restaurants) with current environmental space to redefine Taiwan city space in order to prompt a new landscape thought of Asia culture.
