理財教育融入中小學課程的必要性-由其重要性與課程內涵析論之

Title: The Imperative of Integrating Financial Education into Elementary and Secondary School Curricula: Analyzed According to Its Importance and Curriculum Content

摘要


金融環境不斷地、快速地變遷,以及日增的多元選擇,意味者今日的消費者需要較以前更高層次的理財素養。擁有理財知識才有能力做出明智的決策,是以理財素養是一重要的終身技能,因為這些理財的決策對於未來的理財福祉具有長期的後果。在學校教導理財教育開啟了為學童準備好成為有能力的消費者與家庭資產管理者的過程。而透過融入學校課程的策略,則為理解個人理財概念提供了一個情境,增強了原數學、社會等科目的教導,且使理財教育較不易因為預算或資源稀少的理由而被排擠於學校課程之外。本文先由理財教育相關名詞的界定開始,其次析論理財教育在今日社會的重要性,再由國外理財教育的課程內容探討理財教育課程的基本內涵,最後嘗試提出理財教育融入中小學課程的可行性策略。

The financial environment is fast changing and increased choice has meant that consumers today require greater levels of financial knowledge than previously. Having financial knowledge equips people with the capability to make wise decisions. Because such decisions have long-term consequences for future financial well-being, financial literacy is an important life skill.Teaching financial education in schools starts the process of preparing children to become competent consumers and managers of household wealth. Conveying financial education concepts as part of core subjects such as math and social studies, provides a context for understanding personal finance concepts, enhances teaching of math and social studies, and makes financial education less susceptible to elimination because of budgetary reasons or scarce resources.In addressing such concerns, this article is organized into these main themes of discussion:‧the definition of financial literacy and financial education‧the importance and benefit of financial education‧the curriculum content of financial education‧the possible implemented strategies to integrate financial education in the existing curricula.
