In the circumstances of strongly relying on motorized vehicles for a long time, numerous negative problems have derived gradually in the urban area. As the result, many countries try to promote public transportation and green transportation with the pursuit of a more sustainable urban transport and living environment. Among them, using bicycle as a feedering mode to the MRT is a method to solve such problems. If bicycles and the MRT could be both integrated well, it not only expands the service area of the MRT and reduces the amount and use of motorized vehicles, but improves the utilization of green transportation modes. Therefore, aiming at the residents in Taipei metropolitan area, the study attempts to make a deep exploration of finding the relative factors and their importance level affecting their intentions to use bicycle as a feedering mode to the MRT. Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the research model extends TPB model with associated variables from the literatures to establish a theoretical basis structural equation model to predict and analyze the nature of individual’s willingness to make use of bicycle as a feedering mode to the MRT. Through the questionnaire survey, the collected data are used to fit the research model. The results show that the individual intention is influenced by attitude, environmental identity, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and habits with direct and positive effects. Weather and terrain resistance and environmental satisfaction are both have indirect and positive effects on intention. And the perceived mobility necessities shows a direct and negative effect on intention. To urge of using bicycle as a feedering mode to the MRT in the future, improving the transferred environment, infrastructures and equipments of bicycles, strengthening individual concept of environmental protection, gaining supports and encouragements from the government and society are considered to be helpful to enhance individual intention toward using bicycle as a feedering mode to the MRT.
