This study employs the so-called Vector Form Intrinsic Finite Element (VFIFE) method to simulate creep deformation of concrete. We introduce to calculation theory of VFIFE method and building the simulation program during construction stage. Creep is recognized as an important mechanical behavior of concrete, which addresses the temporal increase of concrete deformation under a long-term exposure to constant external loading, which could result in double to triple elastic deformation. Alternatively, this study presents a hybrid approach of combining VFIFE and age-adjusted effective modulus method to perform numerical simulation of concrete creep. Illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate feasibility of the proposed method.
