寺廟在鄉土教育上的意義－以唭哩岸慈生宮為例
Native Education Significance of Temples: an Example of Tsyr-sheng Temple
摘要
在臺灣傳統的社會中，一座寺廟的建立往往會演變為聚落的中心或市街的起點，集信仰、護佑、教化、藝術、娛樂、自治、保防、經濟、社交等多元功能於一身。在80年代，寺廟成了認同鄉土的一個歷史記號，由此更能引發「人親」、「土親」、「文化親」的情懷。鄉土教育是從鄉土中教學，教學中有鄉土，也是讓學習者能以生活經驗和教材相結合的一種教育方式。寺廟是信仰中心、是藝術的殿堂、是尋根之源、是博物館的縮影，寺廟的教學資源，可以配合各領域發展各種鄉土教材，解決鄉土教學活動實施時缺乏教材的問題，進行鄉土主題教學，以增進學生了解社區居民的信仰，開始留意地方的民俗活動，讓學習者認識、維護、傳承鄉士文化；了解、尊重、包容多元文化，激發立足臺灣，放眼天下之心。本研究調查顯示嗔哩岸慈生宮的鄉土教育教學資源，有下列數項：可以了解慈生宮所在地區的歷史淵源和慈生宮建廟由來及其與日其哩岸居民的關係；可以認識慈生宮神農大帝及其祭祀活動，了解遺境活動的概念，強化社區的凝聚力；藉由訪問地方當老可以學習鄉土語言教育；雕刻、彩繪、極聯、區額、吉祥圖案等知識，是臺灣寺廟建築的特色，也是慈生宮重要的教學資源，可以探索其藝術教育價值；藉著雕塑彩繪，潛移默化忠孝節義的故事；藉由慈生宮寺廟鄉土教學的發展，推及唭哩岸周遭大小寺廟、古厝建築、鄉土文物等，連成一個鄉土教育素材的教學面。

In traditional Taiwanese society, temples have been at the center of village life and development. They became places where not only religious beliefs were expressed but also centers for education, art, entertainment, defense and economic planning, and social activities. Native education is dedicated to teaching, learning and understanding of native ways. It requires examination of traditions, and native life styles. Temples as centers for religious belief, art, and protectors of cultural heritage make an excellent resource for the development of native education. As such temples, provide not only the material resources for native education but also the inspiration for learners to better understand people's religious beliefs and the types of activities that traditionally took place in their home villages. Many aspects of Taiwanese culture are reflected in temple construction. From the sculptures, paintings, pillar scrolls, lucky figurines, and ancient historical stories that adorn many temples much can be learned about the traditions and values of Taiwanese society on both a macro and micro level. In this study, the principle s of native education are applied to a study of Tsyr-sheng Temple, where by the writer hopes an examination and combination of surrounding temples, ancient building s, and native culture, can be utilized to develop a complete native education teaching program for the Kiligan area.
