This study was conducted to investigate the anatomical and macroscopic features of the wood of several fast-growing tree species. The trees studied were Malacca albizia, Taiwan acacia, Formosan sweet gum, and Taiwania. Malacca albizia and Taiwania were 14 years old. Taiwan acacia and Formosan sweet gum were 16 and 20 years old, respectively. The diameter at breast height of the 4 species in this study was 20-30cm. The results of wood maceration, and anatomical and macroscopic features observed with a scanning electric microscope were obtained.
