《聊齋誌異》「離魂」故事之承繼與新變:以「葉生」故事為中心

The Source and Derivation of the "Soul-separating" Stories in Pu Songling's Strange Stories from the Leisure Studio: An Analysis Taking as an Example "Ye-Sheng" (The Story of Scholar Ye)

摘要


本文以清代文言短篇小說名著《聊齋誌異》「葉生」故事為中心,探討其援引前代小說常用之「離魂」手法,藉由與蒲松齡生平遭遇頗為相仿之主人翁(葉生)展演鋪陳,並觀察該作品所承負之文學載體的真正目的,它不再只是單純的「抒情」、「言志」,亦是文人騷客抒發胸臆不平之氣的一種管道。「人心想望」與「文學表述」二者之密切結合,通過《聊齋誌異》「葉生」一事,當可獲得清楚呈現。

This article aims to trace how Pu Songling in ”The Story of Scholar Ye” used the conventional plot of ”soul-separating” in earlier stories from the Ming dynasty but turned it into a new way of expression. Through characters sharing similar live experience with him, Pu not only expressed his emotion and aspirations in the story but also used the story as a channel to present his strong sense of resentment and criticism toward his times. We can clearly see in the story of Scholar Ye what the author aimed to and how he integrated personal objectives with literary conventions to achieve an artistic whole.
