摘要

本個案報告是采田野研究法，在民國83年8月11日至9月26日護理一位青春期骨癌(Ewing's sarcoma)末期少女，并在患孩瀕死的階段擔任其主護護士，家訪及追蹤患孩及其母親，參與觀察，記錄互動過程，根據十篇行為過程記錄采內容分析法，探討母親面臨愛女瀕死之歷程。研究結果發現母親呈現以下的反應：(1)試圖準備自己與愛女面對死亡；(2)維持心目中孩子的完好形象；(3)努力圓滿孩子的願望；(4)抉擇采積極或姑息療法之矛盾情結；(5)尋找靈性的支持；(6)焦慮不可确知的未來；(7)發洩難以歷抑的情緒。護理人員除了提供身體生理的照顧以外，還扮演了支持者、聯絡溝通者、諮詢者、傾聽者的角色與功能，陪伴母親與患孩一同面對生死。

This case report was conducted by the field method approach. The writer was the primary nurse taking care of a female adolescent diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma during her terminal stage. Content analysis was applied to 10 process recordings to identify the mother’s experiences during her daughter’s. The mother’s experiences were categorized as (1) Trying to prepare her daughter and herself to face the death; (2) maintaining the beautiful image of her child; (3) attempting to fulfill her daughter’s wishes; (4) hesitating about progressive or palliative treatment; (5) seeking spiritual support; (6) worrying about the indefinite future; (7) giving vent to emotions not easily suppressed. The findings address the role function of the nurse as care-giver, supporter, coordinator, consultant and listener, to help mothers and children with cancer during the terminal stage.
