On Catalyst-Oil Interactions in Fluid Catalytic Cracking

流體催化裂解的觸媒與油的交互作用

並列摘要

This study aims to gain a better understanding of the interactions between oil droplets and catalyst in fluid catalytic cracking. It is shown that it is virtually impossible for any oil drop to escape the feed injection zone without ever encountering a catalyst particle. Leidenfrost boiling should not be a primary mechanism for catalyst-to-oil heat transfer because the catalyst is highly porous and not sufficiently hot. When a catalyst particle strikes a large oil drop, it can shoot through or be captured inside the droplet. Conditions under which shooting through and capture would occur are developed. They are used to interpret literature data reported in 1992.
