This paper is to illustrate the meanings, purposes, and types of the Mohist idea of Use and its modem implications. We are going to point out the Mohist conceptual system of Use, where the purposes of Use are Achievement and Benefit, while Benefit is related to Time and Righteousness. Regarding Righteousness, we can explore it in terms of Will and Achievement. These four concepts represent the system of the practical Use, while the theoretical construction involves Thinking and Words. In terms of the types of Use, there are the Use of physical ability, the Use of materials, the Use of instruments, the Use of morality, the Use of name and argumentation, and the Use of problematic consciousness. These types not only show the philosophical attributes of the Mohist Use and their modem implications and but also enable us to have introspection on the relationship between the theory and the practice of an academic school.
