This study explores the process of the formation of bisexual identity of ten women. I analyzed what factors may affect the construction of bisexual identity and the role of bisexual identity on their daily practices. Ten bisexual women were interviewed using semi-structured interview method. Three points can be made based on this study. First, the ways in which bisexual women construct their sexual identity are contingent to their social situation and their knowledge of the matter, and there is no one particular factor that can be seen as necessary to the process of identity construction. Second, in terms of identity formation, in addition to biological sex, gender and daily life practices are also sources of identity. Despite the fact that a sense of gender multiplicity may allow bisexual women to be more flexible and open, their daily and emotional life still follow conventional practices. For example, they may consider their potential partners’ economic status, sense of responsibility, and even whether they are filial. Finally, we must to know that bi-sexual and homosexual stigma cause by heterosexuality system. If not, it’s difficult to solve the problem of the core and oppression source.
