中高齡者科技產品使用現況及抗拒原因之調查及改進-以南部地區為例

Study and Suggestions on the Current Condition of the Resistant Factors to the Usage of IT Products among Senior Citizens ~ A Case Study in Southern Taiwan

摘要

隨著醫療科技的進步使的人類的壽命不斷延長，老年人口不斷的增加，台灣地區的人口快速邁向高齡化社會，而未來高齡人口也會快速增加。
現在科技產品目前研發朝向以輕薄短小，功能多樣為設計目標，但多數未將中高齡人口對科技產品的功能需求與操作習慣加以考慮，以至於中高齡人口在使用科技產品上會有很多不方便的地方，導致中高齡者對於這些科技產品產生恐懼，以至於有排斥或抗拒使用這些科技產品的行為發生。
鑒於上述情況，探討國內中高齡者究竟是因為哪些緣故導致會對這些科技產品有抗拒的情形出現，或者是因為哪些情況致使他們不想使用這些科技產品，為本研究一項重要的課題。
本研究採用調查研究法，針對手機、筆記型電腦、數位相機、MP3隨身聽及GPS衛星導航5項科技產品，設計研究者自編問卷，於南部地區做訪問調查。回收的問卷使用多變量分析做後續資料處理的動作，以了解目前中高齡者對科技產品的使用情形，並探討了中高齡者對於科技產品的抗拒原因，亦分析個人背景變項對科技產品的使用情形及抗拒原因是否有所差異。
研究結果發現這些產品在外觀上或功能上，可能沒有考量到中高齡者他們的使用習慣，及因為年齡而老化的身體，或者在價格上是中高齡者所無法接受的，導致中高齡者他們對這些科技產品產生了排斥或抗拒使用的情形。

With the improvement of the medical technology, the lifespan of human beings is getting longer, and the population of the elders has significantly increased. Taiwan is becoming an aging society with a rapid growth of the elder population.
In the era when the technology development has changed quickly, many technology products have been invented in order to efficiently improve human daily life. However, most of these products tend to aim to be smaller and be with more functions instead of taking into consideration the functional requirements and the operation habits that the senior citizens may have towards the technology products. As a result, the senior citizens have had fear of using these newly-invented technology products, and further developed a resistance to them.
Inasmuch as what has mentioned above, the goal of this study is to explore what factors may lead to the resistance of the middle agers to the usage of technology products, or under what circumstances these middle agers no longer want to get access to these products.
This study applies survey method and has designed a questionnaire and undertaken a survey in accordance with five technology products (cell phones, laptops, digital cameras, MP3 and GPS) around southern Taiwan. The data collected was analyzed by means of the multivariate analysis for the purpose of investigating the current usage of technology products among the middle agers, examining the resistance factors that they hold towards these products, and scrutinizing the individual background in relation to the usage and resistance to these technology products.
The study results reveal that the major factors of elders usage resistance comes from being unable to consider the usage habits of in size and functions; the price is also an important factor keeping elders away from using these IT products.
