肺癌中醫藥治療之四年追蹤病例報告及文獻回顧

肺癌是最常見的惡性腫瘤之一，佔我國癌症死亡率第一位，依病理形態分型可粗分為小細胞肺癌及非小細胞肺癌。非小細胞肺癌的治療以手術切除為主，但超過一半以上的病人於診斷時已屬於第四期，大多已無法以手術切除而需給予化學治療。而第四期非小細胞肺癌的五年存活率只有2%，說明治療效果並不理想。此篇文章為一第四期肺癌的個案報告，討論中西醫結合及單獨使用中醫藥治療肺癌之方向。治療初期，中醫藥以改善化學治療副作用為主；經近八個月化學治療後，因效果不佳及副作用而停止化學治療，故改為單獨使用中醫藥治療，至目前已追蹤四年餘，腫瘤病程未有進展之徵象且病人生活品質良好，顯示中醫腫瘤治療可為患者提供另一有效的臨床選擇。

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancer with the highest mortality rate in Taiwan. Based on histological cell type, lung cancer grossly divide into two groups, one is small-cell lung carcinoma(SCLC), another one is non-smallcell lung carcinoma(NSCLC). Surgical resection offers the curable treatment for NSCLC in early stage. However, there are more than one-half patients who are diagnosed with the stage IV disease and only can undergo the chemotherapy instead of completely surgical resection. In Taiwan, the mean of 5-year survival rate of lung cancer is only 16.1%. It means that the effect of standard treatment for lung cancer is not strong enough to be satisfied. This is a case about a stage IV NSCLC patient who combined using of western and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) to reduce the side effect of standard treatment and TCM using only after failure of chemotherapy. She accepted TCM treatment alone for over 4 years, until now, and the disease is under well control with very good life quality. It demonstrates that TCM treatment offer an efficient clinical option for advanced NSCLC.
