透過科學史培養科學本質觀的科技大學通識課程研究

A Study on General Curriculum about Promoting Nature of Science through History of Science at a Technical University

摘要


本文旨在探討增進理解科學本質的科技大學通識課程教學實務。課程主題內容以科學史為主、人類文明發展史為輔,強調科學發展對社會與科技的影響。研究對象為修習科技通識課程的進修部學生。透過科學史融入通識課程教學活動,並施以科學本質問卷、學習感受問卷等評量工具以及進行訪談,藉以瞭解學生所持有科學本質觀的改變情況。結果顯示本教學活動能夠有效地增進學生的科學知識本質與科學探究本質觀點之正向理解,同時學生對本通識課程的設計與教學活動呈現正面肯定態度。

The purpose of this study is to examine the teaching that increases the students' understanding about the nature of science (NOS) in general education at a technology university. The teaching content focuses mainly on the history of science while taking the human culture history as subsidiary, and emphasized the development of science which has an influence on society and technology. The participants were the students in the Continuing Education program. Interviews and questionnaires were utilized to study the responses of the participants. We can understand whether students will change their views about the nature of science after the teaching. The findings as follows. First, the teaching can enhance the students' understanding of the nature of scientific knowledge and scientific inquiry. Second, the students have a positive attitude toward the teaching.
