Students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are often limited for the participation in physical activity because of their symptoms, and lack of physical activity may be put their health at high risk especially during adolescence. The main purpose of this paper was to briefly (a) discuss the symptoms and learning characteristics of students with ASD, and (b) utilize the principles of general physical education curriculum design into basketball and fitness instruction for this population. It is expected to provide some information to physical education teachers and physical activity related practitioners for their teaching or future research.
