The present study used content analysis and thematic analysis to gain the patterns and recurring themes of representation of aborigines on newspapers. Content analysis indicated that the image of aboriginal people was positively portrayed in comparison with past studies; but thematic analysis revealed that the news content was still hidden with the Han perspectives to report aboriginal people, in term of ethic prejudice or stereotypes. The aboriginal dances and traditional ritual ceremonies were trivialized to a minor part of commercial activities. Newspaper also stereotypically categorized aborigines' economic hardships into two types: waiting to rescue and successful aborigine.
