Co^(60)γ-射線應用於紙張黴害之處理

Application of γ-ray Irradiation to the Disinfection of Mold on Paper

摘要


本研究以Co^(60)加馬射線應用於受微生物污染紙質之滅菌處理,以提供典藏管理之應用參考。選取受黴害污染之書籍,以肉眼、UV光及SEM進行觀察。將紙樣置於不同濕度環境下進行長時間之培養,紙樣於41,53,73,85,97%RH下放置175天後,發現濕度越高環境下之黴菌生長越顯著。由試驗結果顯示,紙樣在53%RH以下經長期觀察並未發生黴害現象。評估γ-射線照射之滅菌效果,結果顯示接菌紙樣、懸浮液接菌及黴害紙樣經3~5kGy劑量之γ-射線照射後,即可有效滅菌。3kGy以下之照射劑量造成紙樣顏色之差異並不明顯,當照射劑量逹30kGy時,各種紙樣之色差值皆有明顯差異。經加馬射線照射後,紙樣之耐摺強度取對數值、抗張強度皆隨劑量增加而下降,耐摺強度於10kGy以上照射劑量下降趨勢較明顯。

The main objective of this study is to explore the feasibility of γ-ray irradiation for the disinfection of paper-based artifacts. Observation of molded area appeared on book papers in artificial light, UV light and SEM . Observation of paper samples stored under 41,53,73, 85, 97% RH after 175days , We find that the fungi grown vigorously in high relative humidity. Under 53% RH and long period of storage, samples still maintain the clear surface on paper. The gamma radiation load at 3~5 kGy gave the sufficient biocidal doasage to the paper samples and spore suspension. The brightness loss for the papers irradiated at the load of 3kGy is not significant. Obvious differences in the color differences of papers are caused by 30kGy irradiation .The higher dosage of gamma irradiation results in the decrease of paper strength, over 10kGy irradiation caused significant decrease in the folding endurance of papers.
