The purpose of this study was to compare the correlation among different education models (educational CD-ROM and oral education versus educational sheet and oral education), clinical nursing staff education time and appropriate patients' wound care behavior. Methods: 60 cases were collected and these patients were randomly assigned to two groups (study group and control group). The study was proceed by single blind method. Wound care behavior was evaluated and recorded by clinical staff using ”Correct Diabetic Foot Wound Care Evaluating Chart”. The data was analyzed by SPSS 13.0. Results: The data of this study revealed that the percentage of appropriate wound care behavior in both groups were equal (89.86%). This meant that both education models were equally effective. For education duration between these two groups, the study group saved up to 10.4 minutes, which was significantly different from the control group. Conclusion: From this study, we suggested that traditional wound care education method should be replaced by CD-ROM and oral education. Repeated demonstrations by clinical nursing staff and practices by patients themselves or their family can achieve better results.
