This study aimed to investigage the influence of interactive electronic books (IEB) on learning efficacy and quality of life (QoL) in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. Study design was quasi-experiment. Information was collected using a structural questionnaire. The subjects were routine peritoneal dialysis patients, 80 patient cases were received forty in the IEB cohert and 40 in the paper book (PB) cohert Statistical methods included Chi-square test, t-test and multivariate analysis of variance. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 19.0. Results demonstrated that scores of PD care knowledge increased after educational program in both groups, and a significant difference between the scores of infection and care at the exit-siter. QoL with SF-36 measurement increased in the IEB cohort, but decreased in the PB cohort. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that IEB provided an advantage to increase PD care knowledge and QoL in PD patients compared with PB.
