數位噴墨印刷亮面塗層紙之χ-氧化鋁塗層漿料的開發

On the Use of χ-Al2O3 Powders as the Coating Slurry for Glossy Ink-jet Printing Papers

摘要


本研究說明以χ-Al2O3作成塗層材料,可製備符合市售規格之亮面相片級數位印刷塗層紙張。研究以底下三項基本測試為基礎加以證實。此三條件為:塗層漿料靜置48小時內所製作之紙張亮度不下降、紙張亮度必須大於50%、及印刷成像紙張浸漬水中30分鐘色粒不掉落。研究結果顯示,χ-Al2O3粉末所配漿料確實可滿足此三條件。不同置放時間下,即使超過48小時,漿料所製作的紙張亮度皆可達到50%。製備之亮面紙經由印刷測試,在成像過程色料與其載媒完美分離,成像清晰。藉由抗水實驗也證明塗層紙固色能力良好,不需額外添加固色劑。另χ-Al2O3漿料於48小時內完成塗佈者,其紙張亮度更達53%,足供製作高品級紙張。本研究結果顯示,χ-Al2O3粉末可作為數位印刷用高階亮面防水相片級塗層紙之材料。而其成本低廉,尤具市場競爭力。

In this paper, we investigated the use of χ-Al2O3 powders as coating slurry for photo-grade glossy ink-jet printing papers. Papers fabricated with the coating slurries comprising χ-Al2O3 powders under various aging times showed glossiness over 50%, reaching 53% if the aging time was within 48 hours. With same aging time, papers made using the χ-Al2O3 coating slurry possessed better water-resistance for discoloration; and no cationic additives is necessary. The image on the papers made with the χ-Al2O3 coating slurry revealed photograph-like quality. Our study results showed that χ-Al2O3 powders are low cost and competitive material for making photo-grade glossy ink-jet printing papers.
