Litchi is one of the important economic fruits in Taiwan. Taichung is one of main litchi planting areas, mainly grown in the Taiping region, Dali region, and Wufen regions, about 70%Hei Yeh species. Taichung is the only Litchi export area to Singapore. In recent years, "cold chain technology" cryopreservation method was adopted to maintain litchi freshness, so the litchi fruit in Singapore market are of proper quality. By creating the cold storage supply chain, it is helpful to stabilize litchi market prices and safeguard farmers' income. In this study, the methodology of SWOT analysis and supply chain management is applied to explore the cold storage supply chain model for exporting litchi to Singapore. Its costs and benefits are also evaluated. Development strategies are proposed to establish an effective cold storage supply chain for exporting litchi.
