Angioleiomyoma of the Nasal Cavity with Progesterone Receptor Expression

摘要

Leiomyomas are benign tumors arising from smooth muscle cells. They are commonly found in the uterus, skin, and gastrointestinal tract; however, they are extremely rare in the nasal cavity, with very few reports in the literature. We present a case of a 54-yearold man who presented with a right-side, progressed, nasal obstruction and repeated epistaxis. Clinical evaluation revealed a lesion that had replaced the anterior twothirds of the right inferior turbinate. Transnasal endoscopic excision and histopathology confirmed a diagnosis of angioleiomyoma. No local recurrence was noted during 26 months of regular follow-up. The roles of estrogen and progesterone have been particularly emphasized in some cases of angioleiomyoma; therefore, our findings are discussed in the context of the available literature on the expression of progesterone receptors (PRs) and estrogen receptors (ERs).

平滑肌瘤（leiomyoma）為一種源由於平滑肌纖維細胞之良性軟組織腫瘤，好發於子宮、皮膚和消化道。起源於鼻腔的平滑肌則是相當罕見，這可能和此部位的平滑肌含量稀少有關。本病例報告一54歲男性，主訴為右側鼻塞及間歇性流鼻血，理學檢查發現右側鼻腫瘤，經手術切除病灶，病理診斷為血管平滑肌瘤，術後情況良好亦無併發症，門診追蹤至今沒有復發跡象。本文將就血管平滑肌瘤之臨床表現、病理組織表徵及治療方式作一討論。近來性激素的表現與平滑肌瘤間的關係屢被提出，在此亦做一相關文獻回顧，以供參考。
