Macular hemorrhage is a rare complication of myopic eyes, and it may result ii severe visual loss. Twenty cases of myopia combined with macular hemorrhage were collected in our study, and the evaluation of their clinical pictures were presented. Females were found more frequently (60%) than males (40%). The age distribution was found more frequently in the 3rd decade (65%). The symptoms most frequently noted were decrease of visual acuity in 95% of eyes, followed by central scotoma (80%) and metamorphopsia (55%). Visual acuity better than 20/200 were found in only 30% of eyes, among whom 65% were higher than -8 Diopters. SRN were noted in 50% of eyes by the aid of FAG. The visual acuity followed-up one year later revealed that 40% of eyes increase more than 3 lines by Snellen Chart. This fact seems to imply that the prognosis of macular hemorrhage in myopia is better than that of SMD.
