The purpose of this study was to investigated the concentric and eccentric contraction of biceps brachii through IEMG. Six healthy male university students served as subject. The treatment condition were a combination of two speeds (40,80rpm) and three loads (5,10,15 pounds). The data were collected under concentric and ecccontric contraction of biceps brachii. Twoway ANOVA with repeated measures was used to an alyzed the data. No significantly different was found in speed and mode of contraction at 5 pounds. The concentric IEMG (104.0±58.8mvs) was significantly higher than ecccntric (32.2±21.3mvs) (P>0.05),at 10 pounds. The 40rpm IEMG (181.7±54.7mvs) was significantly higher than 80rpm (99.1±60.6mvs), whereas concentric IEMG (225.5±87.6mvs)was higher than eccentric(55.3±27.7mvs)(P>0.05).There was no interaction between speed and mode of contraction. IEMG was significantly increased when load was increased. However as speed of contraction increased the IEMG decrease. It can be concluded that the comparison between concentric contraction, weight loads and speed of contraction must be considable.
