工作與家庭:工作價值與親職行為之探究

Work and Family: Work Values and Parenting Behaviors

摘要


工作與家庭是成人最重要的兩個場域。在過去30年,學者已經證實了工作對家庭有重要的影響,不但影響在工作的成人,也影響了家庭裡面的成員,尤其是小孩。工作條件環境,尤其是工作價值觀影響了成人的價值觀,同時也影響了成人的教養觀,教養行為,因此對家中孩子的影響甚大。因此本研究探討了工作價值觀對父母親職行為的影響。本研究使用階層迴歸作資料分析。結果顯示關係(relationship)工作價值對溫暖親職行為有顯著正向的影響。獨立性(independence)工作價值觀對溫暖親職行為呈顯著負向的影響。支持(support)工作價值觀對控制的親職行為有顯著正向的影響。

Work and family are the most important domains in the lives of adults. In the past 30 years, researchers have shown that experiences in both work and family spheres not only have an impact on the well-being of the working population but also have enormous influence on other members within the family. Work conditions have been considered to shape workers' values greatly, which would spill over to their parenting practices at home and would have great influence on children. Thus, the purpose of the current study is to further investigate how specific job conditions, such as work values, impact parents' specific parenting behaviors, based on data collected in Taiwan. Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM) method was used to perform the analysis. Our results indicated that relationship work value correlates positively with warm parenting behavior. Independence work value revealed a negative association with warm parenting behaviors. Only Support work value had a positive relationship with control parenting behaviors.
