Recently, guided bone regeneration (GBR) has been proven to solve the bony defect including periapical lesion during endodontic surgery and implant surgery. Originally, the barrier membrane of GBR was nonabsorbable, it has gradually been changed to absorbable membrane now. GBR was traditionally applied in two-stage implant therapy, however, it is switched to one-stage implant surgery to solve bony defect simultaneously. This report is to present two long-term cases with biopsy using GBR to solve bony defect during periapical defect and implant surgery.
