Today, the use of dental implants has become a common treatment procedure for the replacement of missing teeth. The key to the success of dental implant is the establishment of osseointegration between the implant surface and the surrounding alveolar bone. Strontium has characteristics that help to improve bone formation and inhibit bone resorption; this has attracted much attention in the field of orthopedics and biomaterials in recent years. There has been a great deal of related research recently in the field of dental implantation, and dentists need to be able to utilize this characteristic of strontium in order to improve the osseointegration of dental implants.
