本研究分別檢視公司採用壓縮模式與即興模式之新產品開發方法與績效表現之關係。以147個台灣高科技資訊通訊產業的新產品開發專案為對象,實證結果發現壓縮模式與即興模式方法之採用都可促進新產品開發績效。但在壓縮模式的方法中以「按照事前專案排程執行之進度作為績效評核標準」該項目與新產品開發績效具有顯著關係。而在即興模式的方法中則以「嚴格的把關制度」與「全權主導的專案經理人」等方法顯著影響新產品績效之表現。本文進一步以知識基礎觀點探討正式與非正式知識整合機制,對採用壓縮模式、即興模式的方法進行新產品開發與新產品績效間之調節效果。實證結果顯示正式的知識整合機制不論在壓縮模式或即興模式的脈絡下,都有強烈而顯著的正向調節效果,而非正式的知識整合機制則只有在壓縮模式的脈絡下有正向調節效果。因此正式的知識整合機制對促進新產品開發績效之貢獻大於非正式的知識整合機制。
This paper examines the relationship of adopting compression, improvising model and the performance of new product development individually. After collecting 147 new product developing projects from Taiwan's high technology information and communication industries, we found that both compression and improvising models could lead to new product success. However, the approaches like ”Reward for schedule attainment” of compression model and ”Powerful project leader”, ”Strict check system” of improvising model have significant effect on new product success. Furthermore, we test the moderating effects of formal and informal knowledge integration mechanism on the relationship of compression, improvising models and new product development performance according to Knowledge-based View. The results indicated that the moderating effect of formal knowledge integration mechanism is positive and significant under whatever compression or improvising context. And the moderating effect of informal knowledge integration mechanism is only significant and positive under the compression context. Thus, the contribution of formal knowledge integration mechanism is influential and stronger than informal knowledge integration mechanism on fostering performance of new product development in this research.
