本文從灶神文化出發,探討家政教育的源起與性質,並就當前家政課程的「科學實證論」取向與「生態情境論」取向及其影響,作一回顧與評析。然後,根據女性主義及儒釋道思想,以及當前對情意教育的強調,提出以「關懷倫理」統整「公」與「私」、「剛」與「柔」、「理性」與「感性」或IQ與EQ兩類知識與思維的家政課程新典範。此一關懷本位的家政課程,期能以「關懷倫理」整合「公」領域的實證科學如能與「私」領域的人際的與務實的日常生活知能,加強個人與家庭解決日常生活「公」與「私」兩領域問題的能力,終極目標在於成就簡樸清淨自在的生活。此一具後現代主義特質的「關懷典範的家政課程」不僅能兼顧IQ與EQ的教育,更能實現多元文化教育的目標。
This paper was developed to propose a new paradigm of home economics for the twenty-first century. It starts by reviewing Eastern and Western folktales. A description of the origination and the essence of home economics education follows, then a review and critique of existing paradigms including the positivism and the contextualism/ecological paradigm. A caring paradigm of home economics is proposed to integrate knowledge of private/public. Hestian/Hermean, Yin/Yang, or passion/reason with ”the ethics of care” to empower individuals and families who are able to solve perennial problems raised in everyday life. The aim of this paradigm is to achieve simplification, Calmness, and autonomy of everyday life. The caring paradigm was based on rationales which include the impact of feminism as well as the philosophy of Confucius, Buddhism, and Taoism. It is significant that the paradigm contains the idea of post-modernism in essence. The implementation of the paradigm will be benefitial to both the EQ and IQ of learners. In addition, it is possible to attain the goals of multi-cultural education.
