The Common Method Variance of Physical Education and Sport Research in Taiwan

摘要

本研究目的在探討臺灣體育運動學術研究的共同方法變異（common method variance, CMV）問題，並論述此問題的解決之道。研究採內容分析法，以臺灣五種一級體育學術期刊，從2008至2011年間所刊登共667篇文章中，針對使用問卷、訪談或次級資料為主的149篇計量實徵研究予以分析，結果顯示：無CMV僅有6.04%，部分CMV為23.49%，有CMV占了70.47%。本研究結論：研究者在減少CMV的議題上，仍有很大的努力空間。建議研究者可採事前的隔離式資料蒐集法，如：時間／場域隔離法、方法隔離法等加以選擇應用，以減少研究可能發生的CMV問題。

The purpose of this study was to assess the problems of common method variance (CMV) in content analysis for physical education and sport research. This study presented the results of an extensive review and comparison of a total 667 research articles from top five prestigious Chinese journals, published from Taiwan for the period of 2008～2011. The Chinese periodicals selected for this study, including Journal of Physical Education in Higher Education, Physical Education Journal, Bulletin of Sport and Exercise Psychology of Taiwan, Chinese Journal of Physical Education and Journal of TASSM. The study focused on empirical studies that were quantitative in nature. The findings of 149 studies were in Chinese during 2008～2011, 70.47% of them were with CMV, 23.49% were with partial CMV, and only 6.04% were without CMV. Our findings conclude that the majority of Chinese studies did not handle or even recognize the CMV problem appropriately. Finally, the separation approach of data collecting is recommended for future research.
