賴和小說中的人道主義精神

摘要

賴和人稱「彰化媽祖」、「臺灣新文學之父」。在他的小說中，多以寫實主義的手法描繪出日本殖民統治的剝削與欺壓所帶來的不平等，呈現日據時期人民生活的苦況。也由於自身受過現代醫學教育，具有啟蒙思想，對於傳統舊社會錯誤的價值觀念多所批判，作品中對弱勢受欺壓的民眾予以深刻的描繪，充滿對社會底層小人物深切的關懷，因此本文意欲藉由賴和小說作品以探究其人道主義精神之展現。

Lai Ho was called ＂Matsu of Changhua＂ or ＂Father of Modern Taiwanese Literature＂. His novel fills with more realistic depiction of exploitation and oppression caused by inequality in the Japanese colonial period to reveal the plight of the people. Because he had been trained by the modern medical education, that enlightened him to criticize many wrong values in the traditional society. In his works, there were full description of the social vulnerable and oppressed people, showing his concern on the nonentity. Therefore, the paper intends to explore the humanitarian spirit in his works.
