漢中葉賦家對屈原喻託手法的承繼與應用

摘要


漢代是奠定楚辭詮釋的重要時期,徐復觀先生率先指出漢代士人「以屈原的『信而見疑,忠而被謗,能無怨乎!』的『怨』象徵著他們自身的『怨』。」此一發現實為卓見,惟其所述主要符合西漢前中期的文學現象卻不甚適用於東漢,如班固便不認同屈原情志。《文心雕龍.時序》中亦提到西漢「世漸百齡,辭人九變,而大抵所歸,祖述楚辭」,又說「中興之後,群才稍改前轍」,似乎意味著東漢士人不再受《楚辭》影響。故本文分析《楚辭》與東漢若干賦作,發現東漢賦家雖未如西漢士人般普遍對屈原不遇情志產生強烈共鳴,但對於《楚辭》的文學性卻共同流露濃厚興趣,其中西漢末到東漢中期賦家對「喻託」手法的理解與仿效尤其值得注意。王逸《楚辭章句》:「善鳥香草,以配忠貞;……飄風雲霓,以為小人。」為眾所熟知,但其所闡釋的喻託集中於狹義「比」法,錯失了楚辭中某些藝術精髓,這些表現手法反而在其他賦家身上得到繼承,包括劉歆〈遂初賦〉、班彪〈北征賦〉裡的遊歷結構以及情景交融手法,或如張衡〈思玄賦〉中以「襲溫恭之黼衣兮,披禮義之繡裳,辮貞亮以為鞶兮,雜技藝以為珩。」改寫〈離騷〉:「製芰荷以為衣兮,集芙蓉以為裳」,揭示服飾意象的道德喻意,均代表著對《楚辭》喻託手法的承繼與應用。

Qu Yuan (屈原) influenced Han era writers due to their similar misfortune of being misassigned positions within the government and the feeling as if their talent were being wasted. However, such statement was applicable only for those in the Western Han Dynasty. Therefore, some researchers argue that Qu Yuan only influenced Western Han literature and not Eastern Han literature. In analysis of Eastern Han Fu (東漢賦), evidence indicates usage of Qu Yuan's metaphor and writing technique (combining natural scenery and emotions). In fact, Easter Han Fu is a development of Chu Tze (楚辭) techniques and Eastern Han innovation.
