「哲學概論」通識課程的設計、執行與反思

The Design, Implementation, and Reflection of the General Education Course "Introduction to Philosophy"

摘要


在大學通識教育中,「哲學概論」是一門極為重要的基礎課程,其主要教學目標在於:引領同學認識哲學理論、培養獨立思辨的能力。然而由於哲學理論較為抽象,加上哲學文獻艱澀難懂,因此多數同學對哲學抱持敬畏感與疏離感,不容易進入哲學殿堂,也難以體會哲學思辨的樂趣。筆者在97學年度第2學期與98學年度第2學期在交通大學開授「哲學概論」課程時,皆申請並獲得教育部優質通識課程計畫補助,有較充裕的教學資源得以改進教學品質,97學年度第2學期的課程結束之後,該門課有幸獲評為績優計畫。因此,本文擬根據這兩學期執行優質通識課程計畫的經驗,分析如何對「哲學概論」課程的教學方法與內容進行改革。在本課程中,筆者設計了「當代熱門哲學議題討論」、「經典文獻閱讀」、「聽聽哈佛大學通識課」、「做哲學」等四項主要活動,再輔之以小組討論、課程網站討論等教學模式。筆者認為此多元的教學模式,有助於增加同學的學習動機,亦能夠提升課程品質。

”Introduction to Philosophy” is an important course in general education. Its aim is to lead students to learn philosophy and cultivate the ability of independent thinking. However, owing to philosophical theories are more abstract and philosophical texts are more difficult, most students don't like to learn philosophy and don't realize the happiness of learning philosophy. In order to overcome these difficulties, I apply and execute the excellent general education program subsidized by the ministry of education. According to this program, I practice four activities in my class, which are ”discussing contemporary philosophical issues”, ”reading great philosophical works” ”listening to the general education courses at Harvard University”, ”doing philosophy”. I think these diverse interesting activities can really help to increase the learning motive of students and promote the qualities of this course.
