條碼科技於改善手術室病理組織檢體送檢不完整之成效

Implementation of Bar Code Technology to Minimize Submission of Operating Room Pathological Specimen

摘要


病理組織可提供醫師診斷與治療之參考依據,在任何環節有所疏失,將影響病人診斷、治療,若病理檢體送檢不完整亦會增加人力處理之成本。本單位自2011年6月至7月,統計病理檢體送檢數為2,130件,不完整件數共284件,不完整率13.33%。分析原因為:缺乏完善的病理組織檢體送檢作業流程、缺乏病理檢體簽收本、病理檢體置放櫃規劃不完整及缺乏在職教育訓練。經本小組設置病理檢體專用櫃、擬定條碼作業系統運用於病理送檢作業、制定條碼資訊系統作業標準及舉辦理在職教育,使檢體送檢不完整率由13.33%降至0%,而病理檢體重送之處理成本花費由31,695元/月降為0元,此專案不僅達目標,亦降低人員工作量,減少醫療成本浪費及提升醫療照護品質。

Histopathological examination provides a basis for diagnosis and treatment; the link of pathological specimen submission makes a great impact on histopathological examination. The patient risk and medical cost increase if the patient undergoes repeated invasive inspection due to the pathology specimen lost. Programs were designed to improve submission of operating room pathological specimen. From June, 2011 to July, 2011, we recorded a rate of 13.33% incomplete submission of pathological specimen. The major causes are as follows, including no flow chart of pathological specimen submission and audit systems for the process, incomplete planning for the pathological specimen storage and no training programs for members. We revised the setting pathological specimens cabinets, Bar code technology, pathological specimen submission process, and an on-the-job training education. The rate of incomplete submission of pathological specimen decreased from 13.33% to zero, The cost decreased from NT, 31,695 to zero. The programs are helpful in reducing staff workload, decreasing health care costs and improving the quality of medical care.
