為有效解決尋路問題,瞭解空間配置資訊是必要的。一般明眼人是使用地圖作為傳達空間配置資訊的一種方式,而視障者則需使用觸摸浮凸地圖以觸覺摸讀。由於觸摸浮凸地圖可傳達的資訊較有限,若可結合互動式的語音技術,提供使用者更多的資訊,對其建構心智地圖將有所助益。IVEO觸摸學習系統是一種結合電腦合成語音、觸摸圖形與觸控板的輔具。本研究即運用此觸摸學習系統,研究其對視障者的空間配置之心智地圖建構的學習是否更有效且快速。在實驗的部分,邀請16位視障者並分成4組接受實驗,由實驗組與對照組實驗結果顯示,透過IVEO觸摸學習系統和觸摸浮凸地圖學習的受試者,對於空間配置的認知較快速且在路線行走上有明顯的助益。
Wayfinding is an activity for solving spatial problems in daily life. Maps are used by sighted people, while tactile direction maps are designed for supporting wayfinding activities for the visually impaired. Audio tactile technology involves a touchpad connected to a computer. Tactile direction maps are placed on the touchpad and relevant audio feedback is provided to the visually impaired when they press on different locations of the tactile maps. The purpose of this study is to investigate if using IVEO hands-on learning system with tactile graphic maps can assist the visual impaired to construct individual cognitive map in quick and effective way. The results revealed a significant effect of IVEO aids, and the subjects could perform better through IVEO aids.
