The world is paying attention to Japan's policy of local economic stimulation, especially its agriculture, fishery, the processing sector, and the service sector that constitute most of its local economy. How to effectively increase the sales and added-values of their local products is treated as a major challenge. Meanwhile, the Japanese government has been placing much attention on its IT industry in the recent years and investing significantly on the promotion of e-commerce for products with local culture industry. This study examines the trend of Japan's development of e-commerce with local culture industry, clarifies the policies, regulations, strategies, and projects that support such development, including the IT Law (2000) and Law on Promoting Agricultural and Commercial Collaborations (2008), and examines relevant cases in the wish of providing references for formulating related policies in our nation.
